ESC Congress 2026 closed in Munich. Everything the Congress produced on the guideline side is already here: the 2026 ESC heart failure guidelines and the Fifth Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction on 28 August, and the ACVC/HFA/EAPCI cardiogenic shock diagnostic criteria on 30 August.

Citations resolved for the outstanding list

Two French guidelines that had been noted here without proper references are now pinned down. Neither has an abstract deposited in Europe PMC and neither full text was reachable, so their content is not summarised — they remain outstanding, but they are now findable:

• Intravenous administration of antibiotics by prolonged and continuous infusion — Ourghanlian, d’Huart, Longuet, Boisson, Bruneel, Roger, Wolff et al., Infectious Diseases Now, 20 December 2024, DOI 10.1016/j.idnow.2024.105018, PMID 39710049. Joint SPILF / SFPC / SRLF / SFAR / Stabilis / RESOMEDIT work. A paediatric companion followed: Infect Dis Now, 27 April 2025, DOI 10.1016/j.idnow.2025.105077.

  Worth pursuing because the IDSA-convened multisociety sepsis position paper sent on 29 August recommends defaulting antipseudomonal β-lactams to prolonged infusion — and the French societies published their version twenty months earlier. A side-by-side is the interesting piece of work here.
